As an historian, I enjoy frequent trips to museums and talks. These include the honour of listening to three different survivors of the Holocaust, which I have always found fascinating and deeply moving. I also enjoy writing academic articles and hope soon to be published soon. However, history is not my only interest, and I am a member of a political party as well a founding member of the Leeds University Dungeons and Dragons society. I was fortunate in this latter organisation to be of help to newer players of the game, as a ‘veterans’ system was set up to ask more experienced members for help. I am also a keen amateur magician, gamer, Norwegian Learner and writer. I first realised I enjoyed writing in secondary school, where I would often spend lunch breaks and occasionally time after school writing stories. This has grown into longer fiction writing, as well as being an opinion columnist for the Leeds University student newspaper.

I'm a recent History of Art graduate from the University of York with plenty of customer service and retail experience. I'm a globetrotter at heart, but also a skilled, professional marketer, with a 1st class honors degree in International Tourism Management. My degree helped me to realise that marketing was the industry for me. Over my four years at university I studied three marketing modules, creating effective and engaging digital marketing and destination marketing strategies. They all equipped me with fantastic knowledge and an abundance of skill sets. In my final year, I produced a 6000-word Destination Marketing Strategy report on the city of Miami. I worked exceptionally hard on this and I was thrilled when I received the highest grade on the module.  During my placement year, I worked at Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council as a Communications and Marketing Assistant. Throughout my time at BMBC I supported officers and managers with the delivery of marketing campaigns, email marketing, and producing high-quality content for traditional and digital platforms. I also had the chance to run my own campaigns and produce weekly news articles. I also assisted in the planning of events such as the Tour de Yorkshire. For as long as I can remember I have been hooked on the idea of travel. I love exploring cities, laying on beaches, learning about cultures, and trying new cuisines. I made it my mission to visit 22 countries before I was 22 and did exactly that! 

AT the moment I can work part-time Friday, Saturday, Sunday.  I can go Full time from  from 22nd May 2020 . the start of may half-term. I also need to a 35 hour work placement with college before may if it possible to do it here too.

Firstly, I have industry experience working in a small marketing team, designing and marketing for 4 major big companies including the world’s best prosthetic hand and a 5 star boutique hotel in central Leeds. The tasks I undertake are creating content for social media, content for the websites and print work including brochures. In contrast my artwork is used for events, mail chimps (e-shots) and creating flipping books which is then put onto the websites. I had control over social media, I planned the posts in advance, as it gives me time to work on another project. In addition, I undertook admin work which includes using the phones and talking to clients or companies and reports. In terms of marketing as a team you know what the vision is and our goals so our strategy is to fulfill that, for social media we come up with the marketing strategies but working closely with the CEO and so far we have hit and exceeded our targets.Before we put our strategy into practice, I carried out marketing research to ensure the strategies will work and any new mobile and social media strategies and updates in the apps e.g. live videos, videos in cover photos etc. I have pretty much covered it all and this is why I believe I would make a perfect addition to the team with the experience and knowledge I have which is what you are looking for in a employee but also others in the team can learn from my experience while I learn from them. I have freshly graduated from York St John University in Design: Graphics in 2017 and would like to make the best use of the skills developed during my university study. I have recently come to the end of my internship working for the Liberal Democrats. The communications aspects of the job were what I found most interesting. I want to couple the skills I learned in that role with work in the heritage sector, an area I have a strong interest in from my love of History. I would love the opportunity to work in York's vibrant tourist industry, built on the city's rich and varied past.  Below is a summary of the skills I developed while completing my degree: Essay work ensured that I can write informative, analytical and engaging text to a high standard. Proof reading this work refined my eye for detail. I demonstrated in 24- and 48-hour open exams that I can be highly productive and remain calm and focused under intense pressure in limited time constraints. I was excellent at organising time and managing work load in preparation for seminars, essays and exams. This planning allowed me to work effectively on several projects simultaneously. Throughout my degree, and particularly while completing my dissertation, I learnt how to research a variety of subjects effectively and quickly. Working in groups to produce written pieces and presentations furthered my ability to plan, communicate, and operate as part of a strong team.
