Job Description

The Parisi is a unique 11 bedroom boutique hotel, centrally located in the beautiful ancient northern city of York. Winner of TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Awards in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 - the hotel is within the top 1% of hotels and was rated the 3rd in the UK for best service (and 16th in Europe!) in 2018. We are often chosen by couples or friends wanting to celebrate a special occasion in a relaxed way or wanting a central, civilised and convenient base from which to explore the beautiful city of York.

We are looking for someone to be responsible for:

  • Waiting
  • Housekeeping 
  • Cooking 
  • Some reception duties

Full training (including food safety level 2 and workplace first aid) will be provided so experience is not necessary, many of our hotel assistants had not worked in a chef role before. 

The successful candidate will be energetic, reliable and demonstrate a cheerful can-do attitude.

We are a small team, all flexible and dedicated to achieving the highest standards of experience for our guests. Everyone working here is multi-talented and not afraid to roll their sleeves up. Many of our staff have developed skills while working here that they did not imagine they ever would!

This is a truly diverse role, where you will have the opportunity to learn about and become competent in a number of areas within a successful small hotel. 

This is an opportunity to learn and perfect many transferable skills such as customer service and relationship management, time management, attention to detail and working under pressure

The full time role is working an average of 40 hours per week over 5 days out of 7, the part time role is 15-20 hours per week. Full time shifts will usually be 8 hours, falling between 7am and 5pm but you must be able to work other shifts on occasion if required. Shifts will vary and will include weekends and half an hour paid break. If you are applying for the part-time role please include number of hours wanted and any restrictions on days/times.
