Job Description

Inner Space Stations are searching for an enthusiastic Storage Advisorto join our Self Storage facilitylocated on Layerthorpe, York City Centre. There are 24 hours available; Monday 8am - 4pm, Tuesday 8am - 4pm and Saturday 10am - 6pm.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to storage enquiries in a timely and professional manner and striving to convert enquiries into definite business.
  • Showing customers around the building, understanding their individual requirements and advising them on the best storage solution for their needs.
  • Assisting customers (both in person and on the phone) in renting our storage units and understanding our terms, prices and insurance policies.
  • Inputting new customers into our computer system and managing customer accounts.
  • Preparing invoices and taking payment for storage bookings, whilst maintaining accurate records.
  • Providing outstanding customer service to all our storage customers throughout their stay.
  • Contributing towards marketing ideas and activities to best promote the company and its services.
  • Closely supporting management in driving sales and meeting storage targets.
  • Ensuringthe appearance of the building is maintained by cleaning units, sweeping, mopping, wiping windows, etc.
  • Working closely with management to complete any training required, striving to exceed company expectations.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within a face-to-face customer service role.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude.
  • A confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of initiative.
  • Good working knowledge of computers including data input and use of Microsoft office
  • A willingness to carry out store cleaning and maintenance tasks to a high standard.
  • Previous experience in a sales role would be desirable.
