The ideal candidate will have a background in high-quality restaurants. We need someone that is flexible to grow and develop with our ethos and really sit alongside the brand we have created here. During the spring and summer months, our Front of House team spends a huge amount of time in the kitchen garden or out foraging, so there are lots of opportunities to develop new skills and learn the whole journey our produce makes, from field to fork.
We have 9 rooms at The Black Swan. Our Front of House staff are expected to check guests in at least twice a week, along with working no more than 2 breakfast/split shifts.

Owned and run by The Banks Family, who have lived and farmed around Oldstead for many generations; The Black Swan is very much their creation, with Tommy Banks heading the kitchen and his brother James running the front-of-house.
Chef, Tommy Banks’ talent is in itself truly remarkable. He was Britain’s youngest Michelin-starred chef in 2013 and won Great British Menu in 2016 and 2017. The Michelin-starred Black Swan was awarded The Best Restaurant in the UK 2018 by The Food and Travel Magazine and the ‘Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the World’ by TripAdvisor, in 2017.
