Helmsley Walled Garden is a 250 year old walled garden and a social enterprise providing a place of calm and beauty open to all. A beautiful five acre garden open to the public as a tourist destination every day from April through to October as well as a social enterprise supporting local vulnerable people learning basic horticultural skills with the support of the horticultural therapy team here at the garden.
We provide horticultural therapy support all year round; our supported volunteers tell us how much they love coming to the Garden and how important it is to them. They gain self-confidence along with horticultural knowledge through working in small groups undertaking work in our Plant Nursery,
We work constantly to restore and maintain this historic site, developing it as a garden and maintain the historic structures on site,
We promote gardening to a wider public by answering questions from visitors, writing in gardening magazines and featuring in books, magazines, newspapers, radio and television.
